One of Congress’ most important constitutional duties is the annual appropriations process, which allocates funds for federal programs. This process supports national defense, interstate transportation, food assistance, research and development, and much more. The National Defense Authorization Act has been passed into law for over sixty consecutive years. This must pass legislation contains important policy provisions and funding authorizations that bolster our national defense.
