Listed below are the Energy and Water Development projects Senator Blumenthal has submitted to the Senate Appropriations Committee. The Senate Appropriations Committee selects the final projects from the projects submitted by all senators. Therefore, neither submission of an application nor Senator Blumenthal’s approved list of projects are guaranteed for final funding.

Children’s Community Development Center, Inc. - Westport, CT

  • Amount Requested: $165,000
  • This project builds a solar array to provide electricity to three childcare centers in Westport, CT.

Greater Bridgeport Community Enterprises, Inc. - Bridgeport, CT

  • Amount Requested: $200,000
  • This project would provide funding to the outreach and facilitation of a community-led, strategic clean energy plan for future energy conservation and renewable energy generation projects in Bridgeport, CT.

  • Amount Requested: $600,000
  • This project would provide funds to implement energy efficiency improvements to the Town of Hamden’s Administrative Office Building.

  • This project would include purchase of a new generator, construction of the mounting pad, upgrading electrical switch gear, and modifications to the electrical room to accommodate the new equipment.

  • Amount Requested: $1,900,000
  • This project would provide funding to the Net- Zero Emission Public School in Manchester, CT.

Parent Child Center, Inc. - Westport, CT

  • Amount Requested: $50,220
  • This project would provide funding to install a generator for the Parent Child Center agency for three early care and education programs serving families with children from birth to age six.

  • Amount Requested: $2,000,000
  • This project would provide funding for the city of Stamford to upgrade its network of inefficient, high-pressure sodium-based streetlights to energy-saving LEDs.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Branford, CT

  • Amount Requested: $5,750,000
  • This project will provide funding to dredge between 70,000 and 100,000 cubic yards from the Branford Harbor and River.

  • This project will provide funding to dredge approximately 50,000 cubic yards from the federal channel in the Stony Creek Harbor.
