Lieberman, Blumenthal Announce Senate Confirmation Of Michael Shea

(Washington, D.C.) – Emphasizing his exceptional credentials and character, Senators Joseph I. Lieberman and Richard Blumenthal applauded the Senate's confirmation of Michael Shea to serve as the United States District Court Judge for the District of Connecticut. The nomination was approved by the Senate in 72-23 vote Wednesday evening.

“Michael Shea epitomizes the qualities of integrity and intellect, and he is eminently qualified for the District Court for the District of Connecticut. He has not only proven himself in his profession, working successfully on a wide range of legal issues, but also as a community leader – working to improve the administration of justice in Connecticut, dedicating his time to pro bono work, and improving the community through his work with Connecticut non-profits. Mr. Shea is incredibly qualified for this position, and his position on the District Court will be an asset to the state’s judicial system. I thank my colleagues for confirming such a qualified candidate, and helping to alleviate the backlog of confirmations in the District Court for the District of Connecticut,” said the Senators.
