Connecticut Congressional Delegation to Host 2015 Military Service Academy Night

(Hartford, CT) – The Connecticut Congressional Delegation will host its annual Military Service Academy Night on Wednesday, April 29th at 7 p.m. at the Major General Maurice Rose Armed Forces Reserve Center in Middletown, CT. The event will have representatives from the five service academies: the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. In addition, there will be a representative from the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DODMERB) who will discuss the medical aspect of the academy application process. Representatives from collegiate ROTC programs, the National Guard, and other programs will also be in attendance in order to discuss options that provide an alternate route to commissioning as an officer in the U.S. Military.

The event will be an opportunity for prospective students, their parents, and Connecticut middle and high school guidance counselors to learn about the application process, the academic standards of each academy, as well as give them a chance to ask Congressional staff members about the nomination application process, which is a crucial part to the Academy application process.
