Blumenthal Statement Regarding PURA Report into Eversource Response to TS Isaias

(HARTFORD, CT) – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement after the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) issued their final decision following a review of Eversource’s performance during Tropical Storm Isaias:

“PURA got it right. Eversource adjectively failed its customers in preparing for a catastrophic storm and negligently responding to the damage. Cutting the company’s profit is a good first start but PURA must exact severe monetary punishment as a spur for better Eversource performance. Eversource must prepare for the worst and hope for the best ahead of a pending storm.”
