(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) issued a statement in response to the decision issued by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals in Verizon v. FCC, regarding the Federal Communications Commission’s 2010 Open Internet Order.
“Despite today’s ruling, the Commission clearly has the authority to protect consumers and preserve an open internet—as acknowledged by the D.C. Circuit Court. I urge the Commission to use that authority aggressively and responsibly. I have faith that the Commission will continue to fight for the consumers, entrepreneurs, and innovators that rely on an open internet. I look forward to working with them in this effort.”
