[WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement in response to reports of four U.S. soldiers killed and two more injured in Niger.
"I urge the Administration to immediately inform Congress about the facts of this reconnaissance training mission that resulted in four identified American casualties in Niger. I have grave concerns about the adequacy of force protection measures and command decisions that led to this tragic outcome and hope to learn what Congress can do to swiftly support those Special Forces still deployed in harm's way."
