Blumenthal Statement on Trump Terminating Critical Healthcare Subsidies

[WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement after President Trump announced he would end vital health care subsidies, known as cost sharing reductions, that allow lower-income Americans to access affordable health insurance.

“The President’s continued sabotage of the ACA is mean-spirited, rash, irrational – and apparently boundless. Ending critical ACA subsidies will shred health care protections and shatter promises made to countless Americans. Congress must act now to rescue our health care from Trump’s sabotage. Bipartisan work is our only hope to counter the health care tragedy now unfolding for millions of Americans.”
