Blumenthal Statement on Trump Executive Order Barring Undocumented Immigrants From Being Counted in Census

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement after President Trump signed a memo aimed at preventing undocumented immigrants from being counted in the census:

“This step takes Donald Trump’s contempt for the Constitution to a new low. Refusing to count every single person— regardless of citizenship— is blatantly illegal. It is also flagrant flailing by an Administration bent on a cruel, hateful anti-immigrant agenda. It must be blocked.”
