Blumenthal Statement on the Nomination of Gina McCarthy to be National Climate Advisor

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Commerce, Science & Transportation Committee, released the following statement after President-elect Joe Biden announced that he would nominate Administrator Gina McCarthy to be National Climate Advisor:

“Having worked closely with Gina McCarthy in Connecticut, I admire her as passionate, courageous, and a brilliant advocate of environmental values. With expertise and professionalism, she will immediately begin recovery from the damage inflicted by Trump’s EPA. Under her skilled guidance, the United States will once again lead by example in combatting climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. I look forward to speaking with her about her priorities for spearheading domestic climate change efforts and working with Congress."
