[WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement after the Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from the Trump Administration on the status of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:
“The Supreme Court rejection of an immediate hearing is a temporary, insecure reprieve. This decision puts a little more time on the clock, but it fails to solve the underlying problem and in no way diminishes the urgency of Congress taking immediate action to protect the Dreamers. Dreamers need and deserve permanent status and a pathway to citizenship. Congress must act now,” Blumenthal said.
