Blumenthal Statement On Retirement Of UConn Men's Basketball Coach Jim Calhoun

(Washington, DC) – Today, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) issued the following statement on the retirement of University of Connecticut men's basketball coach Jim Calhoun:

Coach Calhoun leaves a lasting legend and legacy – instilling and inspiring excellence on the court and leading causes involving cancer and autism.  He has been a relentless competitor, with an unmatched winning record, but he has been a champion off the court in his personal courage as a cancer survivor and victim advocate. I wish him well in this next chapter of his remarkable life – and welcome and wish good luck to his successor Kevin Ollie.
