Blumenthal Statement on Reported Deal to Protect Dreamers

(Hartford, CT) – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) issued the following statement regarding reports of a deal to protect Dreamers:

“Despite conflicting and confusing reports, I am still hopeful that a bipartisan agreement can be reached to protect Dreamers and avoid a self-inflicted, immoral catastrophe of mass deportation. Such bipartisan agreement is necessary urgently and immediately. The President’s shameful DACA rescission has created severe chaos and fear for the Dreamers and their families, as well as businesses who rely on their skills and dedication.”
