Blumenthal Statement on President's Signing Of Transportation, Student Loan Bill

(Hartford, CT) – Today, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) issued a statement about the signing of H.R. 4348, the transportation-student loan bill. The President is expected to sign the bill later today. 

“This long-sought bipartisan measure will power job creation and new construction when our nation needs it most.  For Connecticut, these funds will fuel new public investments, revitalize roads and bridges, and put people back to work,” said Blumenthal.  “The common sense student loan provisions continue affordable rates  – easing the financially back breaking burden of college debt.  Looking forward, the nation must reduce college debt  – now totaling $1 trillion – before it cripples out economy.”
