Blumenthal Statement On New MyVA Reorganization To Help Veterans Navigate VA

(Hartford, CT) – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal today released the following statement after Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert A. McDonald announced the vision for the future structure of the Department of Veterans Affairs, which is an organization called “MyVA” designed to increase productivity and efficiency at the VA, making the Department more easily navigable for veterans.

“While I welcome this important initiative, the reorganization must be more than rhetoric and reshuffling management positions on paper to bring a real break with the past. Secretary McDonald’s vision of putting veterans first as customers should be the mantra of dedicated VA workers every day. It responds directly to the needs and concerns of veterans that I hear around Connecticut. Now real action is required to provide nimble, world-class, patient-centered care and services. I believe in Secretary McDonald as a leader and manager who will work tirelessly to implement these goals.”
