“Users Of This Railroad Deserve Better, And Metro-North Must Do Better”
(Hartford, CT) – Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) issued the following statement on the Metro-North service disruption that left commuters stranded at stations or stuck on trains for two hours:
“User error seems to be Metro-North’s story these days. Routine maintenance during peak user hours, particularly under the most severely adverse weather conditions, is absolutely unacceptable and inexplicable. More and more, I am convinced that a comprehensive review and possible total overhaul of operations are necessary to ensure that this railroad runs safely and reliably. Users of this railroad deserve better, and Metro-North must do better.”
