(Washington, DC) – Senator Richard Blumenthal released the following statement today after the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee unanimously voted to pass the Children’s Hospital Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) Support Reauthorization Act out of Committee and send it to the Senate floor for a vote:
“I am pleased and proud that the HELP Committee has unanimously voted out the Children’s Hospital GME Reauthorization, and look forward to the bill’s swift passage on the Senate floor. This legislation enjoys broad bipartisan support for good reason – it expands access to vital pediatric care for sick children in Connecticut and across the country by providing critical support for the training of pediatric residents. I was proud to introduce this legislation with my colleagues Senators Casey, Isakson and Roberts on the Committee this past May, and I am committed to moving this legislation forward.”
