Blumenthal Statement on Hartford Promise Zone Designation

(Hartford, CT) – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) issued the following statement regarding Hartford’s designation as a federal Promise Zone:

“This designation represents a promise by the federal government of assistance and partnership and a commitment by the Hartford community to work together to break the cycle of poverty in the city’s North End.  Job training, educational programs and economic development are cornerstones of this effort.  I commend Mayor Segarra, city councilors and legislative delegation members for their leadership in bringing together the key components for success.  I look forward to celebrating the many future milestones this group will achieve on their way to meeting today’s promise,” Blumenthal said.
