[HARTFORD, CT] –U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) today released a statement following Governor Ned Lamont’s announcement that state funding to address flooding at Job’s pond will be voted on during Friday’s State Bond Commission meeting.
“This state funding is crucial to unlocking $500,000 in federal funding to provide immediate relief to the beleaguered homeowners on Job’s Pond. I saw firsthand in April how this flooding impacts the community and spoke with homeowners who have had to leave their homes and do costly repairs when the water rises. This state and federal funding is imperative to keeping Job’s Pond residents in their homes safely. I will continue to work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and state and local officials on a more permanent solution to this flooding,” Blumenthal said.
