(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) released the following statement on the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) decision to extend the public comment period on tobacco deeming regulations for e-cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco:
“On tobacco regulations, so vital to public health, the FDA's delay has been measured in years, so another 30 days may seem inconsequential, but it continues drift and indecision. The delay is sadly another self-inflicted wound, with real public health impact.”
