(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) today released the following statement following the Republicans’ failure to advance legislation that would void a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) rule designed to modernize the process workers use to organize:
“This vital vote means upholding worker rights to bargain for a better future. Upholding the President’s veto means retaining a rule providing critical workplace protections to working people in Connecticut and across the country – rights to exercise historic collective bargaining rights. This critical rule provides benefits not only to workers but also businesses by helping to cut down on lengthy litigation, modernizing the election process, streamlining procedures, and bringing certainty and predictability to a cumbersome and inefficient processes.”
