[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Chair of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, released the following statement after President Joe Biden nominated Alex Hoehn-Saric as Chair of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Mary Boyle as CPSC Commissioner:
“American consumers deserve a full complement of commissioners at the CPSC to protect them from an ongoing menace of hazardous products. These two nominees have admirable experience and expertise, and Congress should move swiftly to approve them. Equally important, I hope Congress will provide more robust resources needed by CSPC to do its vital work.”
