(Washington, DC) – Senator Richard Blumenthal tonight released the following the vote on the cloture motion to proceed to the American Jobs Act:
“The American Jobs Act will put teachers back in the classroom, construction workers back to work, and provide vital help to those still looking for a job. Struggling families and jobless individuals in Connecticut and across the country deserve better than partisan politics, and it is reprehensible that Republicans have steadfastly opposed these jobs measures, so critical to our continued economic recovery. Despite this setback, increasing economic growth must continue to be our number one goal. I look forward to introducing pieces of this legislation in the coming weeks to help those in Connecticut looking for work and to help our small businesses develop and expand.”
