[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement in response to the announcement that Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has reached an agreement with the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribes that will allow sports wagering and internet gambling:
“I applaud the agreement between Governor Lamont and the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribes to provide additional sports wagering and online gaming experiences for Connecticut residents. I am glad to see that the agreement addresses problem gambling and strongly support such consumer safeguards. The agreement, once finalized, will need an amendment to the Tribal/State Gaming Compact that requires US Department of the Interior approval. I will strongly support such an amendment and seek expeditious federal review.”
