[WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement after the Senate voted 81-13 to override President Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
“On this first day of 2021, a solid victory for bipartisan commonsense and sound collaboration. It’s a crisis averted for America’s national security, our men and women in uniform, and jobs and economic progress in Connecticut and around the country. Congress has decisively repudiated an inexplicable, inexcusable Trump veto, sending a message to friends and foes around the world: on our national defense, we stand together.”
