Connecticut Lawyer Is Nominated To Serve As U.S. District Court Judge
(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) issued the following statement after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to approve the nomination of Connecticut lawyer Jeff Meyer to a U.S. District Court judgeship in the state:
“We are tremendously pleased by the Senate Judiciary Committee’s backing of Jeff Meyer’s nomination to be a U.S. District Court Judge. Jeff has one of the most extraordinary legal minds in Connecticut, and is an outstanding public servant and professional. From his experience litigating civil and criminal cases to his human rights work in Nicaragua and teaching experience at Connecticut’s most prestigious universities, Jeff has a rich and diverse legal, academic, and service background that will serve him well on the federal bench. We will work hard to ensure that this well-qualified lawyer gets the vote of confidence he deserves from the Senate.”
