(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement on a meeting with Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood about Connecticut’s need for funding to repair and rebuild roads and other infrastructure damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
“There are still families, businesses, and communities in Connecticut who are struggling to return to their daily routine after the devastating damage wrought by Superstorm Sandy,” Blumenthal and Murphy said. “We will continue to fight to ensure that Connecticut receives its fair share of Sandy Supplemental funds. Today’s meeting with Secretary LaHood was productive, and we look forward to working with him to rebuild and repair Connecticut’s infrastructure.”
This is one of several discussions Blumenthal and Murphy will organize with agencies disbursing Sandy Supplemental funds. The senators will also talk with leaders of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Federal Emergency Management Agency.
