(Hartford, CT) – Today, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (D-Conn.) announced that a $112,000 Affordable Care Act grant was awarded to the primary care residency program at the Connecticut Institute for Communities Greater Danbury Community Health Center. The funding will be used for training more primary care residents and dentists in community-based patient care settings.
“We’ll see more primary care doctors in Danbury because of this grant. Having more primary care doctors in the area means that more patients who seek treatment – including many new patients who will be able to see a doctor because of benefits provided by the Affordable Care Act – will get the care they need. This funding is only one of the many benefits people will receive under the Affordable Care Act, and we look forward to the other benefits this transformative healthcare law will provide.”
