Blumenthal Applauds Announcement That Pratt and Whitney Will Build Next Generation of Long Range Strike Bomber Engines

(Hartford, CT) – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, applauded news today that Northrop Grumman has selected Pratt and Whitney to build the engines for its next Long Range Strike Bomber. Work will be done at Pratt and Whitney’s Middletown facility.

I congratulate Pratt and Whitney for their continued and proven ability to provide our military with the most competitive engines in the world, which has no doubt led to Pratt and Whitney becoming a member of the select group of contractors that will work with Northrop Grumman to construct the next Long Range Strike Bomber, recently dubbed the B-21. Pratt and its work force are second to none in producing the planet’s best airplanes for our national security. I am proud that this great Connecticut company will play an even greater role in the Air Force’s much needed modernization plans,” Blumenthal said.
