(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) announced his new U.S. Senate Committee assignments. In the 113th Congress, Blumenthal will join the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs. Blumenthal will continue to sit on the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, and the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging. Blumenthal is no longer a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
Blumenthal said “I am excited to join the Senate Commerce Committee and the Committee on Veterans' Affairs because these committee assignments will allow me to redouble my efforts on behalf of Connecticut's veterans and consumers. Protecting these populations has been a priority throughout my career. I thank Leader Reid for these new committee assignments, and I am grateful for my new roles on two of the Senate's strongest teams.”
