AFTER WINNING WAGER ON MEN’S NCAA TITLE GAME, BLUMENTHAL PRESENTS PAUL WITH UCONN NECKTIE

(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) presented U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) with his University of Connecticut (UCONN) necktie on the steps of the U.S. Capitol as part of a wager on Monday’s NCAA men’s basketball title game. On Twitter before the game, Blumenthal challenged Paul to a wager where the loser would wear the necktie of the winner’s home team.  Excerpts from the exchange are below.

Blumenthal: I think this looks better on you than it does on me.

Paul: I’d like to demand a recount, my official protest… Congratulations, again.

Blumenthal: Thank you. Go UCONN!
