From its sprawling agricultural communities in the east, to its cherished coast in the south, it is home to some of America’s most important and prized national treasures. One of the original 13 colonies, Connecticut’s first Governor, John Trumbull, whose statue is prominently displayed in the United States Capitol, was the only governor to support American independence from Britain.
